Rocco Salata was born on the US Naval Base in Rota, Spain. His father is an Italian-American from Brooklyn, New York, who joined the US Navy right after finishing Highschool at age 17.
His father met his mother, a native Spaniard, while stationed in Spain. Rocco grew up traveling from place to place, including Germany, Morrocco, Puerto Rico, and several of the continental United States. Rocco studied Broadcasting at Miami Dade Community College, before transferring to the University of Central Florida, where he got his B.A. Degree in Radio, Television & Film Production in 1994.
He began acting in student films, and doing some background acting as well as stand in and photo/stunt double work in Miami before moving to Orlando in 1992. Then in 1995 Rocco Salata moved to Hollywood, California to pursue his acting career. In 1999 he traveled to Korea for one year where he worked on a weekly TV documentary amongst other things.
In 2001 he went to Japan to work on some TV commercials. In 2002 he went to Madrid, Spain where he stayed until August 2007 when he moved to London, England where he currently alternates between TV commercials and independent films produced in Spain, the UK and the USA.
